Phantasy Star Legacy

The Phantasy Star Saga
This small section is dedicated to the other Phantasy Star games that made have made their way to American soil and have become timeless classic.

Phantasy Star
Sega Master System - 1988

Well before Dragon Warrior changed the face of RPGs forever, there was one special little title that released ahead of it's time.  Phantasy Star was released on the Sega Master System in 1988 and was a sight to behold.  Phantasy Star had the best 8-bit graphics seen anywhere on the planet.  Phantasy Star was also the first game to introduce Pseudo-3D dungeons which looked really awesome.  PS was 4 times the size of Dragon Warrior sitting at a whopping 4megs.  If you are on eBay, look for a master system and get this game.

Phantasy Star II
Sega Genesis - 1989

As the first RPG to launch on the Genesis,  PS II was the second game in the PS saga.  As the main character Rudo, you are picked by you superiors to find out why the Mother Brain super computer has gone haywire.  Along the way, you will befriend many allies to help you in your quest.  This is a fun and easy game to pick up and play but at many times you'll be left wondering where you're suppose to go next.  But despite this little problem, it's a great game.

Phantasy Star III - Generation of Doom
Sega Genesis - 1991

As many have called it,  Phantasy Star III is the "black sheep" of the saga.  It appears to have nothing to do with the other Phantasy Star games.  You start out as Rhys, a prince destined to marry his bride until a monster kidnaps her.  He leaves the castle in search of clues of his kidnapped fiancĂ©e and make friends along the way.  The only thing that this game seems to have that's related to the other PS games is the millennium terror known as Dark Phallus( Dark Force, Dark Falz).  The graphics are nice, the story is so-so and the combat can be annoying at times.  If you're a diehard PS fan you should pick this one up the minute you see it.

Phantasy Star IV - End Of The Millennium
Sega Genesis - 1994

Phantasy Star IV was the supposed last chapter of the Phantasy Star Saga.  Youstart the game off with Chaz, a cocky young street boy, that was raised by a great hunter named Alys.  You two set out on a mission to the University to solve a mystery and kill some monsters.  What happens is that it turns into a giant mystery as you are trying to find out why everything is going haywire and what is the cause of it all.  The best of the series. Also very expensive if you are collecting games for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive.
